AOG Support FAQs
What qualifies as an AOG situation?
An aircraft is considered AOG, or Aircraft on Ground, any time a mechanical, avionics, or systems issue prevents it from being airworthy for its next scheduled flight. This can range from a warning light that will not clear to a component failure discovered during a pre-flight check.
How quickly can Empire Aviation USA respond to an AOG call?
Response time depends on your location and the nature of the discrepancy, but our AOG hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our team begins triage and dispatch planning the moment you call.
Do I need to be at one of your listed airports to get AOG support?
No. While we maintain dedicated coverage at specific airports, our AOG team coordinates response beyond those standard locations. Call the hotline, and we will advise on the fastest path to getting a technician to your aircraft.
Will a technician come to my aircraft, or do I need to bring it to a facility?
In most AOG situations, our FAA-certificated A&P technicians are dispatched directly to your aircraft's location with the tools and parts needed to begin troubleshooting on site, rather than requiring the aircraft to be moved.
How do you handle parts sourcing during an AOG event?
Our team begins sourcing likely parts as soon as we understand the discrepancy, often before the technician arrives on site, so we are not waiting to start the process after diagnosis confirms what is needed.
What information should I have ready when I call the AOG hotline?
Aircraft type and tail number, your current location, a description of the discrepancy, and any error codes or warning indications you have observed all help us begin dispatch planning immediately.
Can you provide a cost estimate before work begins?
Yes. Once our technician has assessed the discrepancy, we walk you through the proposed scope of work and associated cost before proceeding, so there are no surprises once the aircraft is back in service.
Will I receive documentation I can submit to my insurance provider?
Yes. Every AOG repair includes full documentation, including the technician's findings and return-to-service paperwork, formatted to support insurance and airworthiness record requirements.
Does an AOG repair affect my aircraft's existing maintenance schedule?
Our technicians document any AOG work performed so it integrates cleanly with your aircraft's existing maintenance records, and we flag anything that should be reviewed at your next scheduled inspection.
What happens after the aircraft is returned to service?
Once the aircraft is authorized to return to service under our FAA Part 145 certificate, our team remains available if any follow-up questions or related issues arise.
